The Rab Men’s Ascendor Alpine Pants are suitable softshell pants for winter mountaineering, year-round alpinism, ice climbing, and even backcountry touring in spring conditions. They’re the most durable, protective pants in Rab’s Ascendor range. Matrix softshell fabric offers midweight warmth, wind and weather protection, fast-drying comfort, high levels of UPF sun protection, and plenty of stretch for moving up and down mountains comfortably. The waistband has a high rise to accommodate a harness comfortably, and there are hook-and-loop adjustments, belt loops, and attachment points for included suspenders so you can customize the fit however you like. The hems have powder gaiters and zippers that slide over ski or mountaineering boots with ease. Rab reinforced the hems with kicker patches for extra protection from crampons and ski edges. The Ascendor Alpine Pants have a regular fit that’s easy to layer over baselayers, and the articulated knees work with the gusseted crotch to ensure freedom of movement.
